2518 TANNEHILL DR.

THE MANDERLEY

A few years ago when driving by a random suburban street in Ft. Worth, TX,  I noticed the application of a beautiful exotic wood called ipe (ee-pay) surrounding the front door of a remodeled ranch-style home.

The use of the wood as a large front entry focal point was something I felt was risky, but turned out beautiful.

So when it came time for the next Letoro Home, I committed to using that inspirational house to create 2518 Tannehill Dr, and eventually named it The Manderley which is the name of the street in Ft Worth.

Letoro Homes excels at curb appeal and The Manderley, in step, was created with intent for onlookers to stop or slow down and take a moment to admire the home.

The eyes start at the large rectangular ipe mass that immediately gives the first impression of warmth and natural elements. The eye may then notice the potted Blue Agave sitting to the left of the front door on an elevated structure. As a slight nod to the beautiful xeriscape gardens in Sedona and Southern California, this plant allows the rest of the landscaping, in similar theme, to make sense and feel integrated to the house structure. The use of limestone boulders and gravel and occasional yucca plants now flows effortlessly and there is no rough dileneation between house and landscape.

I also found it important for the house to blend in with the beautiful ranch homes that make the Timbegrove neighborhood quaint. So attention was paid to recreating themes remniscient of older ranch-style homes like the large bay window, angular brick supports around this bay window, and an unassuming gable roof that acts as a supporting character to the main attractions of the grand front entry and large glass windows.

Together the structure is a balance of a modern warm aesthetic and a traditional mid-century home.

This blended intention was carried throughout the interior to bring the owner a feeling of warmth, comfort, natural elements, and open-concept living.
